Refurbishment

Once the sashes have been removed a thorough inspection of the window is carried out. Upon inspection the paint to all flat edges only is also removed. If any small areas of rot are found, they will be removed and filled with an eppoxi resin filler. Larger areas are replaced with a new treated timber. Mortise and tenon joints are checked, re-glued and screwed as required. Sashes are then sanded and painted with two coats of quick drying primer. The box frames are sanded and primed as above. Sashes are then re-fitted, checking weights and adding additional one pound make weights as required. We allow six pounds per window, anything above will incur an additional cost of £1.00 per lb. Sashes are machined to receive the SASH DOCTORS perimeter draught proofing system and re-corded using a waxed nylon sash cord. Finally, pre-machined staff beads and parting beads are fitted - all beads are made from timber not plastic. Once fitted the operation of your window is checked. The nylon weatherfin brush which is used is guaranteed for 5 years providing it has NOT been painted. .
